Then, head to Meknes, Morocco's 17th-century capital. Enjoy lunch and explore Meknes' historic medina and Bab el Mansour gate. Before ending your day in Fes, visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Spend a full day exploring Fes, one of Morocco's imperial cities. Begin your day with breakfast before heading south to the Merzouga Desert. Stop in Ifrane and drive through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you might see Barbary apes. Enjoy lunch en route and admire the lush Ziz Valley. Arrive in Merzouga, ride camels across the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, and watch the sunset. Spend the night in a luxury desert camp, enjoying dinner and Berber music under the stars.
Watch the sunrise over the dunes, then choose between a camel ride or a 4×4 drive back to Merzouga.
