This 4-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will take you on a tour of the magnificent south Moroccan desert. You’ll drive past the Atlas Mountains, see their old buildings and small rivers beside them, and explore the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is recognized as a Unesco World Heritage site. You’ll also pass through Ouarzazate and Roses Valley to arrive at Dades Valley, where you’ll spend your first unforgettable night. Finally, you’ll continue on to Merzouga Desert, where you can ride a camel in Erg Chebbi. In your Morocco Sahara desert tent in Merzouga, spend the night under the stars while traversing the 1001 Kasbahs route and the Valley of Roses. After admiring the magnificent Ouarzazate Studios, we will return to Marrakech, the Red City, and our four-day vacation from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert will come to a conclusion.

Tour Plan

Day 01 Marrakech - Tichka - Ait benhaddou - Ouarzazate - roses valley - dades valley.

Our 4-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert begins at 8:00 a.m. from your riad or hotel. After breakfast, we'll leave Marrakesh and travel through the Tizi-Ntichka, or Atlas Mountains, taking in the scenery and taking pictures. Next, we'll head to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which is a large collection of traditional buildings and includes the names of the actors and locations of four movies that were filmed there. A lot of people travel to see this well-known Kasbah. Once we've explored the Kasbah, we have to eat lunch at the same restaurant, where we'll enjoy delicious Berber cuisine such as Tajin, Moroccan salad, couscous, and Berber mint tea.

Following lunch, we'll get in our vehicle and go to Ouarzazate, which is home to studios and is known for what else. From there, we'll head to Dades Valley, where we'll spend the first night, where we can learn more about the area's customs.

Day 02 Boumaln dades - Todra gorge - Erfoud - sahara desert Erg chebbi.

After breakfast, we'll continue the second day of our 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour. Our journey will take us through Tinghir, known for its stunning Todra Gorge. This picturesque spot features a river running between two towering mountains, attracting many tourists. Tinghir is also famous for its palm groves and agriculture.

Continuing on, we'll drive through the Atlas Mountains, where you'll see a beautiful mix of black and white peaks. Our lunch stop will be in the small town of Tinejdad, at a local restaurant renowned for its delicious Moroccan dishes, especially the traditional tagine.

After lunch, we'll head straight to the desert camp. We'll arrive in the afternoon, where camels and their guide will be waiting for us. You'll get to ride the camels, watch the sunset, and take some amazing photos. Once at the camp, you'll enjoy a magical night by the fire, with Berber music under a star-filled sky. It promises to be a fantastic night and an unforgettable experience.

Afterwards, we will continue our 4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes to the impressive high dunes of the Erg Chebbi Desert. After arriving at the camel riding meeting point, you will ride a camel with a guide across the orange dunes to witness the magical sunset and take some beautiful pictures. Later, you will head to the desert camp for an overnight stay in a traditional nomad luxury or standard tent, depending on your preference for the type of camp. There, you will enjoy a delectable dinner and dance under the stars while listening to Berber music.

Day 03 sahara desert Erg chebbi - Rissani - alnif - Draa valley - Ouarzazate

On the third day of our 4-day tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert, we'll start the morning with a beautiful sunrise and breakfast at our camp. Afterward, you'll ride camels back to the starting point. From there, we'll set off for Ouarzazate.

On our way, we'll visit the bustling city of Rissani, known for its vibrant souk, where locals trade and craft traditional items like shoes, hats, and clothing. Here, you'll encounter a diverse mix of Berber and Arabic people.

After exploring Rissani, we'll continue our journey through the city of Alnif and the scenic Draa Valley. We'll stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant in Nkob before heading through the stunning landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the winding roads of Ait Saoun.

We'll end our third day in Ouarzazate, getting ready to enjoy the final day of our Moroccan adventure.

Day 04 Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll head to a famous studio known for its rich history in movies and actors, which attracts many visitors. Later, we’ll enjoy lunch at the scenic Tizi Ntichka Pass, known for its zigzag roads. After that, we'll make our way back to Marrakesh, marking the end of our 4-day tour from Marrakesh to the Merzouga Desert.

Following that, we'll travel to Azrou's cedar forest, home to Barbary Macaques, where you can get some stunning photos. From there, we'll head to Ifrane, known as Morocco's second Switzerland due to its consistently low temperatures and ranking among the world's eight cleanest cities, where we'll stroll through its gardens and see the Atlas Lion statue. This concludes the 4-day excursion from Marrakech to Fes and the Merzouga desert. We will then travel to Fes and drop you off at your lodging or at the airport.
